Tropical Hawaiian Luau Party

A tropical party is the perfect way to entice a longing to get away to some place warm. Whether it's an anniversary party, a retirement party or a birthday party a tropical theme party is fun. To have a luau means that you open your house to explosive revelry and a touch of tropical sunshine where there wasn't any before. Deck the party out in tiki torches, paper lanterns and umbrellas for your drinks.The key to any good luau is a bamboo bar that serves tropical drinks.

Pina Coladas and Daiquiris are a must have for any tropical party. If you prefer, you can leave out the alcohol for a kid's party. Look for fun shaped ice cubes to add that extra flare to the party drinks.

We found those cute mini umbrellas at an online Luau Party Shop. Have raffia umbrella covers for your outdoor tables. It gives your backyard class and a sense of really being miles away from home.

If you have the budget for it, hire a couple of hula dancers to come and be the party's entertainment. They could get your guests involved by giving them a quick lesson on shaking their hips. Stock up on plenty of leis and grass skirts. As the guests arrive, place the leis around their necks as you welcome them to the party.If you wish, you can write on the invitation for people to wear their own Hawaiian shirts or their own grass skirts.

Or, you can supply the grass skirts for your guests. If you are planning to throw the party in your backyard, it would be a plus if you had a pool. Set up plenty of lounge chair and towels for your guests comfort. Place a small table in between every two lounge chairs. This gives your guests a place to put their food and drinks and creates a neater and well organized atmosphere.
